Caregivers can be adult children, spouses, other relatives or friends caring for an older adult. The most healthy and effective caregivers are those who seek and accept informational and coping support. In an effort to provide valuable support to those in a caregiving role, a caregiver support group is held by ICP, a faith-based alliance. The group is open to anyone in the coalition congregations or surrounding communities.

The adult leaders are proud that we have many teens in leadership roles this year in Logos; from Table Parents, to worship leaders and Little Logos coordinators. This is intergenerational program that touches so many lives.

Grace Lutheran Preschool will host its annual Fall Parent Night on Thursday, November 11, for the parents of its three- and four-year-old students. This event will give parents an opportunity to experience a day at preschool with the help of a slide show and hands-on activities.
As students and staff begin their celebrations of harvest and Thanksgiving, they give thanks for the start of another wonderful school year. All are blessed with eager and excited children, a dedicated staff, and supportive and loving parents.

The Women of Grace who participate in Projects Day broke their previous quilt-production records in 2010 by making 90 quilts for Lutheran World Relief! Moreover, 16 additional quilt tops await completion. “Since Pastor Flessen suggested that we put together quilts kits for home sewing, we have been busy,” said Debbie Granger, “even working on non-scheduled days. We can barely keep up with preparing the quilt kits!”

The other night I rummaged through the extraneous silverware drawer in my kitchen, noisily looking for just the right spoon with which to stir the soup. I knew precisely where to look and I had lots of choices. Taking it further, one should ask if that person actually wants fish and more importantly if he or she has access to, control or ownership of the pond? These words focus our attention on the complex issues of aid, development and justice about which there is continuing debate.
