The Site Committee recently completed its review of ideas generated by members of the congregation, various committees and the church staff for improving our church space. Based on these ideas, the committee created a list of five objectives to present to potential architecture firms. The Site Committee will select a firm to develop a long-term plan for our space based on these objectives and the mission of our church.
The five objectives are:
Access: Improve functional use of and consolidate like spaces (library, office, meeting rooms, etc.). Improve flexibility, accessibility and circulation throughout our church facility.
Aesthetics: Update decoration schemes and storage strategies.
Fellowship: Renovate Fellowship Hall, Kitchen, Kensington Room and Nurse’s Office space.
Worship: Improve Sanctuary access and flexibility. Accommodate alternative uses. Improve traffic flow from worship to other functional spaces. Enhance existing character and tradition of space
Facility: Upgrade infrastructure, energy efficiency, lighting and sound, fire alarms, communications, information technology and phone system. Address code issues and green initiatives.
The Site Committee appreciates all the feedback it has received to date and continues to welcome your input. If you have feedback, please contact Chad Fuller at 708.579.5891 or chadfuller1973@gmail.com.
