A new ministry group forming at Grace Lutheran Church of La Grange will expand caring ministries by providing a friendly face or voice to those in need on a short-term or one-time basis
You are invited to be part of Helping Hands and Hearts of Grace. Volunteers will offer their time and talents to:
• make a friendly phone call
• pray with someone over the phone or
in person
• stop by with a dinner
• run an errand
• bring a friend to worship, or
• visit a member at home or in the
hospital to say hello, listen, and pray.
For example, you might:
• visit a new mother and her baby
• give a hug to someone who is
grieving
• follow up on a prayer request
• help a member check out a
book / movie or,
• enjoy a cup of coffee with someone
who needs a firendly ear
Training sessions in September will be open to everyone and will provide an overview of this ministry and the tools necessary to interact effectively with those in need. This will not be as extensive as the Stephen Ministry training, but will equip members for short-term or one-time care-giving. We hope to reach out to all Grace members in need, young and old, so we hope to attract a wide range of individuals to become involved. After the sessions, you can choose to serve where you feel your talents will be best utilized.
Please prayerfully consider this new ministry. We would welcome you to be part of it. For more information or to leave your name as a volunteer for the three-hour training on September 15 or September 20, leave a message with Pastor Gerow at 708-352-0730, x211. You may also indicate your interest on the yellow pew cards as you worship.
